Engraving

We specialise in C02 laser engraving, small scale machine engraving and sublimation colour printing.

Laser engraving is a versatile marking process that is suitable for engraving on various materials, including plastics such as acrylic, laminated plastics, and Perspex, as well as low lead crystal, glass, timber, leather, and powder coated/painted metals. If you are uncertain about the compatibility of a specific product with laser engraving, please don’t hesitate to contact us for further information and guidance.

We provide basic machine engraving services for aluminium trophy plates in various sizes. Additionally, we offer laser marking on stainless steel, regular steel, aluminium, and brass. You have the option to either supply the metals to us, or we can engrave on products you provide, as long as they are suitable for the engraving process.

Our laser engraving capabilities extend to a wide range of glass types. The most commonly engraved glasses are jade and clear glass, which produce precise and clear frosted finishes. While it is possible to engrave coloured glass, the level of contrast may not be as pronounced as with clear options. It’s important to note that tempered or toughened glass, commonly used in heat-proof items, do not engrave well. Engraving on such glass can result in fractures, chips, and a distorted engraved surface that is difficult to view. In these cases, we recommend exploring alternative engraving methods for achieving the desired results on such items.

Clear crystal, similar to glass, can be laser engraved to create a frosted finish on its clear surface. However, we have found that engraving into low lead or more affordable crystal products yields better results. Therefore, we recommend that our clients consider this aspect before purchasing items from other suppliers. It’s important to note that high-end, premium quality crystal products like those manufactured by Wedgewood and Royal Dalton may not engrave as expected. The surface of such crystals can chip and flake, resulting in an unsatisfactory engraving finish. In response to feedback from our clients, we have chosen not to offer engraving services for high-end crystal products with high lead content. If you wish to engrave such items, we recommend contacting a sandblaster, as they may be better equipped to handle the engraving process for these particular products.

For optimal results, engraving or marking flat surfaces generally produces the best outcome. Curved or undulating surfaces can pose challenges for engraving and may be better suited for hand engraving or sand blasting methods. However, laser engravers offer more flexibility and can engrave around the circumference of drinkware by utilizing a rotary attachment, allowing for precise engraving on curved surfaces.

– Our laser engraving capabilities extend to items within the dimensions of 726mm x 432mm x 195mm in size. However, for drinkware or cylindrical items, there are specific constraints to consider. We can only engrave on items with an inner diameter less than 98mm and an outer diameter under 135mm. Please keep these limitations in mind when selecting items for laser engraving.

To achieve the best engraving and printing results, we recommend providing vector artwork whenever possible. Preferred file formats include AI (Adobe Illustrator), EPS (Encapsulated PostScript), and PDF (Portable Document Format). However, we can also work with high-resolution JPEG and PNG files.
For laser engraving, monochrome artwork is preferable as it allows for precise and clear engraving. On the other hand, for printing orders, full-color artwork is ideal to achieve vibrant and detailed results.

No unfortunately not – try a hand engraver or jeweller.

We offer sublimation printing services, which allow us to apply colour prints onto coated aluminium panels. These panels are normally mounted onto plaques.

In our store, we have the facilities for laser cutting certain plastics and other natural products. Acrylic is the primary material chosen by our clients for laser cutting. For optimal results, it is recommended to cut materials that are under 6mm thick. Additionally, we can also perform laser cutting on materials such as cardboard, leather, and thin veneers.

We offer laser cutting services for timber veneer and MDF materials up to 6mm in thickness. However, it is important to note that laser cutting timber can result in a noticeable burn edge or charring around the cut edges. Many clients find this finish undesirable and prefer an alternative. As an alternative to laser cutting, clients often choose to have their items cut using a CNC Router, which can provide a cleaner edge without the charring effect.

Custom Awards and Medallions

The minimum order quantity for custom medallions and badges is set at 100 units. As for custom awards there is no minimum order quantity, however keep in mind that this is high end award service and the production costs are easier to budget for when ordering multiple units.

Small to medium custom medallions orders take between 4-6 weeks to manufacture. larger orders can take between 6-10 weeks depending on the size of the order.

The manufacturing time for custom awards depends on factors such as design complexity and the initial information provided. Generally, it takes between 4 and 8 weeks to manufacture custom awards. To ensure the production of your desired awards, we recommend allowing ample time for design development and production. The more time you allocate, the better we can accommodate your requirements and create high-quality custom awards.
